At the human level - Issue of Thursday, September 30, 2010 (CBC Montreal CIBL101.5)

Last week, some cases of cooperative health have been reported in the media. We tried to demonstrate that some cooperatives operate in a market logic and profit like private clinics "under guardianship" of pharmaceutical companies or supermarkets. While the contribution to a cooperative is voluntary, aims to support the social purpose and it should not be a barrier to accessibility and universal health care, light on the subject can raise major issues . Certainly health cooperatives are supposed to be the antithesis of market logic, especially in health. And such initiatives from communities across Quebec have shown that they allow citizens to be involved in the process of implementation of health services. The opposite of "one stop shopping" where it is a private company and organization that regulates medical practice in a community. Read and listen following the story.
